These Treatments are Different

You cannot pick an alternative cancer treatment the same way you pick your other medications. Despite the enthusiastic claims of well meaning people:

A person's unique body chemistry seems to be the most important consideration in selecting an alternative cancer treatment. Only energy medicine offers a selection method that takes body chemistry into account.

What to Do

Consider taking no more than three treatments, the treatment recommend by someone else, selected by your research and the treatment indicated by energy medicine testing using the Alternative Cancer Treatments Test Kit*.

Introduction

Emulsified vitamin A is just another form of vitamin A and is used interchangeably on this web site with the term "vitamin A." Emulsified vitamin A is vitamin A delivered inside "bubbles of fat" to enhance bioavailability.

Vitamin A (retinol) is a yellow, fat-soluble terpene alcohol obtained from some carotenoids by conversion in the liver where it is stored. Retinol is concentrated in egg yolks and the livers of many animals. Vitamin A and its analogs have shown the ability to help inhibit cancer cell proliferation and help in returning to normal growth patterns. Its inhibitory effects are especially potent against leukemia and certain head and neck cancers.

Combination therapy using Laetrile and emulsified vitamin A is based on a study* conducted by Harold Manner Ph.D., chairman of the biology department of Loyola University, Chicago.

Development

The first formal studies of the possible anti-tumor effects of emulsified vitamin A were initiated in Germany, by investigators of Mugos Laboratories in Munich. It was a known fact that lung cancer in Norwegian sailors was less common than in other groups, even though they smoked since childhood. Logic indicated that it had to be the opposite. After studying the phenomenon, it was discovered that they ate abundant quantities of raw fish liver, high in Vitamin-A, since childhood.

The logical conclusion was that high doses of such vitamin prevented the growth of lung cancer in heavy smokers. But it was also found that high doses of Vitamin-A were toxic, and could cause adverse reactions. The main focus was to find out how to administer enough Vitamin-A to observe preventive or healing effects, without injuring the liver. The solution was found by one of the investigators, when he discovered that unprocessed milk had the vitamin, and children who were breast fed never experienced toxic effects. Mother nature had the solution by including Vitamin-A in milk in the form of Micro-Emulsification. Mugos investigators proceeded to prepare a variety of emulsified concentrations, until they found what they would call High Concentration A-mulsin. One drop of A-mulsin contains 15,000 units. They were able to administer over a million units of vitamin A per day in progressive doses, without producing hepatic toxicity.

Pharmacology

Beta-carotene helps support immune health by enhancing the function of the thymus gland. Emulsified vitamin A is absorbed directly into the lymphatic system without going through the liver in high quantities.

After solving the toxicity problem by emulsifying, it was possible to test the product in high doses. It was demonstrated that emulsified vitamin A has the following effects:

Effectiveness

There have been no formal trials on the effectiveness of emulsified vitamin A. All research has been on lab animals. It seems to work on most types of cancers.

Studies

In June of 2004 research conducted at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center shows that vitamin A cures as many as 33% (10 remained cancer-free after five years) of patients with a rare form of leukemia -- without using chemotherapy. What is more significant is that these patients didn't use anything else. If they used the additional supplements, that survival rate could have been much higher especially since vitamin A is known to need additional support to be effective. See this study* about using vitamin A and Laetrile for example.

A plethora of published studies associates low vitamin A intake with increased cancer risk.

The first formal studies of the possible anti-tumor effects of emulsified vitamin A were initiated in Germany, by investigators of Mucos Laboratories in Munich. It was demonstrated that vitamin A has the following effects:

Quantity of Papers

There are very few papers regarding the performance of emulsified vitamin A.

Conclusiveness of Papers

The few studies for emulsified vitamin A that are available do not seem to have been peer reviewed.

Standalone Ability

Emulsified vitamin A is usually used as an additional supplement to Laetrile. This use is based in part on a study* conducted by Harold Manner Ph.D., chairman of the biology department of Loyola University, Chicago.

Dosage and Ease of Use

The liquid drops of emulsified vitamin A have a pleasant taste or no taste at all. Taking them with meals is actually easier than taking a pill. However, it is recommended to increase the dose as much as possible. This greatly reduces the ease of use because exceeding the dose that your body can withstand can cause numerous side effects.

People who change their eating habits greatly increase the effectiveness of the supplements they take. Consider reading the "General Diet*" subsection of the Home page.

Dosage

Emulsified vitamin A has the following effects:

Mugos investigators proceeded to prepare a variety of emulsified concentrations, until they found what they would call High Concentration A-mulsin. One drop contains 15,000 units or 20,000 units. They were able to administer over a million units per day in progressive doses, without producing hepatic toxicity.

Increasing the dosage slowing by starting with one drop at each meal, has the vantage of reducing overdose risk.

In emulsified form, Vitamin-A is absorbed directly into the lymphatic system without going through the liver. This helps prevent the toxicity problem in high doses, but there is disagreement regarding the actual dosage. There are two views regarding dosage.

100,000 IU a Day

Life Extension supplies emulsified vitamin A with a 20,000 international units (IU) per drop concentration. They recommend two to five (100,00 IU) drops a day for anti-tumor treatment. However this conflicts with research performed in Germany.

1,000,000 IU a Day

From the book World Without Cancer: Mugos investigators in Germany using emulsified vitamin A were able to administer over a million IU (50 drops) per day in progressive doses, without producing hepatic toxicity. In high doses they were able to demonstrated that Vitamin-A has the following effects:

1. In normal doses, it protects epithelium and vision.

2. In doses of 100,000 to 300,000 units per day, it works as a potent immune-stimulant.

3. In doses of 500,000 to 1,000,000 units per day, it works as a potent anti-tumor agent, specially in epidermis and transitional carcinomas.

Side Effects

There are two groups of emulsified vitamin A side effects:

Vitamin D Interference

Vitamin A production is tightly controlled in your body, however when you take vitamin A directly, you bypass the controls. A form of vitamin A, retinoic acid, can block the activity of vitamin D by weakly activating the vitamin D response element on genes, see the Vitamin D Councel December 2008 newsletter**.. Unfortunately, emulsified vitamin A is the retinoic acid form. If you are relying on vitamin D as a cancer treatment, emulsified vitamin A is likely to interfere.

Vitamin A Overdose

The following are common symptoms of vitamin A overdose:

Blood tests showing elevated liver enzymes may be a sign of vitamin A overdose. If any of these symptoms appear, doctors recommend discontinue using vitamin A until the symptoms disappear, and then resume vitamin A therapy at a lower dosage.

Reports of increased bone fracture risk are a concern when higher potency vitamin A supplements are taken over the long-term (Michaelsson et al. 2003). One study showed bone mineral density was reduced by 10 percent in those taking more than 5000 IU of vitamin A from both dietary sources and supplements. This study showed that compared to lower intakes of vitamin A, those taking more than 5000 IU of vitamin A had a 2.1 time higher risk of hip fracture.

Depletion of bone mineral density is of concern to cancer patients, since some cancer drugs also cause bone mineral depletion. Some cancers have a proclivity to metastasize to bone, and weakened bones may be more vulnerable to cancer cell adhesion and infiltration. Beta-carotene does not induce any loss of bone density, but it fails to exert the same potent effects against existing cancer cells as vitamin A drugs.

Thyroid Cancer Patients

Patients with thyroid cancer should avoid vitamin A. The thyroid gland works with the liver to produce a vitamin A binding protein called transthyretin. This keeps vitamin A bound in the blood and only releases it to the body when needed. When there is no thyroid gland, the lack of transthyretin makes high doses of vitamin A potentially toxic because there is no control mechanism to hold the vitamin A in a biologically unavailable form.

Compatibility

There are no known compatibility issues between emulsified vitamin A and other medications or supplements except vitamin D.

From the February 28, 2010 newsletter of the Vitamin D Council**:

...the benefits of vitamin D are almost entirely negated in those with the highest vitamin A intake. And the retinol intake did not have to be that high in these older adults to begin to negate vitamin D's effects, about 3,000 IU/day. Remember, young autistic children often take 3,500 IU of retinol a day in their powdered multivitamins, which doesn't count any additional vitamin A given in high single doses.

This is the largest study to date showing vitamin A blocks vitamin D's effect and explains some of the anomalies in other papers on vitamin D and cancer. For example, Dr. Rachael Stolzenberg-Solomon of the NIH conducted two similar studies on pancreatic cancer, with startling different results. Her first paper showed high vitamin D levels tripled the subsequent risk of pancreatic cancer, her second paper showed no effect. The difference, the first was conducted in a cod liver oil country, Finland, the second in the USA.

Testimonials and Belief

Testimonials can be a very powerful tool to help in the healing process because they can boost your belief in a treatment. However, reading testimonies is a poor method of making a treatment selection. An alternative cancer treatment with only a 5% success rate can still obtain many genuine and impressive testimonials. A selected group of positive testimonials cannot compare to a study were all of the case histories are presented, the failures as well as the successes. Only then can you have a significant impression of effectiveness.

Insure Success After Ordering Emulsified Vitamin A
Almost every cancer patient uses more than one alternative cancer treatment. The most successful use at least one that was selected by their body. After you order Emulsified Vitamin A, learn how to ask you body to select another cancer treatment using Behavioral Kinesiology*. Such testing only takes about ten minutes and you will learn how to test many things, but most important it solves the treatment selection problem:

The answer to finding the best treatment lies within the patient's own body. Go to the Alternative Cancer Test Kit* page to learn how to get the answer from the patient's body.

Avoid Critical Gaps in Your Protocol

There are many therapies described on this web site some of which will tremendously help you.   However, this web site is huge, if you do not know what to look for, you probably will not find it. For example, the most successful cancer therapy ever tried is described on the Prevention page because it is also a good prevention. You can find it by using the Find function for "1959." You would not have found it by searching for a particular treatment or cancer type.

When you purchase a phone consultation all the therapies that we think are right for you will be covered during the consultation and included in a customized summary of about 15 pages. Typically people say that before the consultation, they did not have much of a plan, after the consultation, they feel that they have many therapies to use that really make sense. After the consultation, Paul Winter and his associates will work for you for about four hours to prepare a specific summary and follow-up emails. It is the best support value in alternative cancer.
